Badlands Skill School - Toronto

The Badlands Canadian Skill-School, part of an ongoing 20th anniversary celebration for Badlands in 2008, was a resounding success.

Badlands, together with Josh Davey of Edmonton Impact, held the Skill-School Clinic to expose and build new Canadian paintballing talent at Paintball City in Toronto.

The clinic, which maxed -out at a capacity 20 participants, began with a series of exercises and stretches that Edmonton Impact learned after hiring a professional football coach from the Edmonton Eskimo's.

Once the students had 'loosened up', Josh ran a series of drills, teaching Snap-shooting, running and gunning, footwork, power-stances and much more.

Josh then went on to spend 2 solid hours teaching field-craft and theory, where students learned to 'read' a field and develop advanced strategy, which was put into practice that afternoon with a series of game simulations and even a mini 3-man tournament.

To end the day, everyone got to play Josh one-on-one for the chance to win a signed Josh Davey Edmonton Impact Jersey. Everyone left the class a better player than when they arrived, and with a smile on thier faces, not to mention a free Badlands Commemorative gift-set!

Josh Davey - Captain, Edmonton Impact

"It is always great to teach Canadian Ballers. What people don't often realize is that its not just a clinic to me, I am also looking for new Canadian talent for our Impact squads. When I see players with potential, I invite them to try out for our semi-pro team, so players that attend these clinics could potentially end up playing Pro for us someday. What Badlands have done with thier Skill-School is great for paintball in Canada and I am proud to be a part of it."

Owen Ronayne - Badlands

"Thanks to Josh, who is a great teacher and an incredible ambassador for paintball, and to all those that attended the Skill-School. Everyone had a great time, and more importantly, they walked away as better players."
